About The Position

This is a backfill position for a TRAVEL ULTRASOUND role. The unit has 4 ultrasound rooms and a staff of 14, including a supervisor. The day shift has 4 sonographers, the second shift has 1 sonographer after 7:30 PM, and the night shift has 1 sonographer. Patient ratios are 8-10 patients in an 8-hour shift. The equipment used includes Siemens Acuson S200 & GE Logiq E10. The EMR is Allscripts and PACS is InteleRad. The patient population ranges from pediatric to geriatric.

Requirements

Must have NH license.
Certification in hand prior to submission.
At least one year of experience with a wide array of exposure to various types of ultrasound.
Good track record with past employers.
Positive references.
Knowledge of anatomy and pathology with ability to recognize normal from abnormal findings.
Basic scanning skills with good understanding of sonographic physics and techniques.
Clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting with some exposure to general, vascular, & OB-GYN sonography.
BLS.
RDMS.
NH MIRT Licensure.

Nice To Haves

Additional certifications: RVT, OB-GYN, AB.
Experience in the OR and with ultrasound procedures.
1 year of experience beyond education.

Responsibilities

Perform ultrasound procedures including Thoras, paras, FNAs (thyroids, parotids, lymph nodes), soft tissue masses or lymph node BXs, liver & renal BXs, drainages (abscesses, cysts, hematomas, gallbladders), thrombin injections.
Perform OR procedures such as breast needle placements, carotids, D&Cs, prostate BXs.
Adhere to all exam protocols.
Work on a team and independently.

Communicate with management appropriately.
Adhere to department policies.
