About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Android Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Android native app development, with a focus on creating high-performing and reliable applications. You will be responsible for developing elegant solutions using Kotlin and the Android SDK, ensuring app performance for UI and networking, and collaborating with back-end developers to build RESTful APIs. This role involves participating in Agile scrum meetings, producing high-quality code, and actively contributing to code walk-throughs and issue resolution. A FinTech background is required for this position.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of increasingly responsible Android native app development using Java/Kotlin
• FinTech Background required
• Proficiency with Kotlin for Android development
• Deep understanding and experience using Android Architectural Components
• Creating self-contained, reusable, and testable modules and components
• Expert level knowledge in using Retrofit 2 for consuming REST API
• Expert knowledge of Gradle as a build and dependency management system
• Experience with UI implementation using constraint layout
• Experience with using asynchronous and event-based code using RxJava/Kotlin
• Experience implementing MVVM design pattern
• Experience working with Git
• Writing extensive unit tests
• 5+ years of Android Development experience
• Mid-Senior level experience
• Kotlin or Java (Kotlin is preferred)
• Android SDK
• Gradle
• Unit testing (Any testing tool is fine)
• Agile
• Integration with RESTful API’s
• Devops (CI/CD pipelines and how to integrate pipelines, Jenkins, GitLab)

Responsibilities

• Develops elegant and simple solutions utilizing technology including Kotlin, Android SDK, Gradle
• Ensuring high performing app for UI and networking
• Cooperating with the back-end developer in the process of building the RESTful API
• Communicating with external web services
• Participate in Agile scrum meetings and responsible for completing assigned stories in a timely manner with quality
• Produces code of high quality and reliability
• Effectively performs code walk-throughs
• Shows initiative to initiate and actively facilitate meetings and issue resolution, involving the right individuals
• Creating configuration, build, and test scripts for Continuous Integration environments
