Travel Technician
About The Position
Amerit Fleet Solutions is hiring a Travel Diesel Technician/Mechanic based in the Raleigh, North Carolina area. This is a 100% nationwide traveling position that requires diesel experience. Travel may be scheduled on short notice and can cause sudden schedule changes, so the technician must adapt to shifting priorities and fast-paced, dynamic, and sometimes ambiguous environments. The role involves maintaining and repairing medium- to heavy-duty fleet vehicles, diagnosing mechanical and electrical problems, and ensuring vehicles meet safety and compliance standards. Work may take place in a mobile or shop environment. The position pays $35.00–$50.00 per hour, based on experience, with weekly pay every Friday. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with weekend availability required.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience performing diesel vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to own and maintain the personal tools and toolbox required for the role.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness and ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
- Must be eligible to pass standard pre-employment screenings, including a drug screen and DOT physical if required.

Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on medium- to heavy-duty fleet vehicles.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
- Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and compliance standards.
- Accurately document repairs and complete work orders.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools and equipment.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support fleet operations.
