About The Position

Amerit Fleet Solutions is hiring a Travel Diesel Technician/Mechanic in Chicago, Illinois, to maintain and repair medium- to heavy-duty fleet vehicles. The role pays $40.00–$50.00 per hour, based on experience, with weekly pay. It involves up to 100% travel across U.S. regions by air or road. The schedule is generally Monday through Friday, with flexibility and some weekend travel required. Travel may be scheduled on short notice and can lead to sudden changes in the work schedule, so technicians must adapt to shifting priorities and dynamic work environments. During non-travel weeks, the technician will help build Mobile Service Center trucks and complete other projects. The position works in mobile and/or shop environments and involves collaboration with Fleet Managers, Senior Fleet Managers, supervisors, and team members. The work may expose technicians to dust, diesel fumes, noise, oils, greases, and other mechanical irritants. Essential tasks may involve lifting heavy objects, accessing tight spaces, and bending, stooping, crouching, or crawling. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
