About The Position

The Travel Team Data Center Associate provides and maintains effective material orders, customer service, and inventory management, and handles customer material movement requests. The role also assembles and installs servers and electronic components using hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices. The selected associate remains based at their home site and travels to support the project.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of related experience.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; the role regularly interacts with customers and other on-site stakeholders.
• Ability to build positive working relationships with different working groups.
• Critical-thinking and analytical skills to make decisions based on provided information and data.
• Computer experience.
• Knowledge of electrical safety and static-discharge hazards and protocols.
• Ability to work with live electrical and electronic equipment and components.
• Attention to detail, quality focus, punctuality, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee loading and unloading inbound and outbound freight and manage related shipping documents and records.
• Check inbound and outbound freight for correct part numbers and quantities and ensure materials are in pristine condition.
• Conduct daily inventory cycle counts and replenish critical spare parts at the datacenter.
• Process returns of electronic components using multiple warehouse management systems.
• Place server racks on the datacenter floor using laser measuring devices with 100% accuracy.
• Populate server racks with electronic components and install cabling by following diagrams and schematics.
• Install rack hardware using hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools.
• Operate material handling equipment, including straddle stackers, rack movers, and electric pallet jacks.
• Perform and oversee work-area cleanup to maintain safety, cleanliness, and 5S standards.
• Push, pull, and lift frequently throughout the workday.
• Adhere to safety and process procedures and meet production goals accurately and efficiently.
• Remain flexible and cross-train in multiple datacenter departments.
• Delegate and coach effectively.
