About The Position

This is a 13-week contract position for a Travel RN in the Operating Room. The role involves performing an age-specific plan of care for designated patients using the nursing process. The RN will collaborate with physicians and other health team members, utilizing leadership skills and clinical judgment to coordinate patient care and direct the activities of the patient care unit team.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Associate’s Degree in Nursing, required.
• Minimum 1-2 years of professional nursing experience in the related specialty.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State and/or Connecticut, required.
• BLS required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
• ACLS certification

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the patient’s physiologic health status
• Assesses patient’s psychosocial health status
• Identifies patient outcome
• Formulates the plan of care and establishes the priorities necessary to achieve expected outcome
• Implements the plan of care
• Evaluates care provided for patient outcome
• Collaborates with other care team members in planning and carrying out treatment regimen; provides direction to other members of the care team
• Performs grade I-IV Decubitus Care
• Administers medications correctly and safely
• Participates in patient and family education
• Performs related duties, as required.
