Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced RN Case Manager for a travel assignment in Torrance, California. This role supports an acute care hospital case management team focused on care coordination, utilization review, and discharge planning across a diverse patient population. POSITION OVERVIEW This assignment is ideal for experienced inpatient Case Managers who are confident managing high caseloads, coordinating care across interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring appropriate utilization of healthcare resources. ASSIGNMENT DETAILS • 13-week contract • Day shift 5x8s (08:00–16:30) • Weekend requirement: every other weekend • Patient ratio approximately 1:20 • Case load up to 25 patients • All age groups supported (neonates through geriatrics) • 1 position available COMPENSATION Because travel rates change frequently based on market demand and facility needs, our recruiters provide the most current and competitive pay packages during your initial conversation. CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES • Coordinate patient care and discharge planning • Perform admission and continued stay reviews • Determine medical necessity using evidence-based guidelines • Manage care coordination and resource planning • Coordinate DME, SNF placement, and transportation • Collaborate with physicians, social work, and interdisciplinary teams • Participate in family meetings and treatment planning • Support regulatory compliance and documentation standards • Document all case management activity in Epic EMR WORK ENVIRONMENT • Acute care hospital • Case management and utilization review department • High-volume unit supporting multiple patient populations • Epic charting system • Interdisciplinary team support across departments Heartline Staffing is a Strategic Talent Partner with Purple Cow Recruiting. Requirements
- Minimum 2 years acute care hospital Case Manager RN experience REQUIRED
- Experience must include care coordination and discharge planning
- Epic experience REQUIRED
- Travel experience REQUIRED (first-time travelers may be considered with strong background)
- CA RN license REQUIRED (must be active or obtained prior to start)
- Experience arranging DME, SNF placement, and transport REQUIRED
- Strong understanding of Medicare guidelines and utilization review processes
