About The Position

FirstChoice is Trinity Health’s mobile staffing solution, providing short- and long-term assignments throughout the health system. Travel Respiratory Therapists fill critical staffing needs and may work in a variety of practice settings, with nationwide and regional opportunities available. The role requires flexibility to float within a hospital and across multiple hospital locations or regions. Respiratory Therapists are expected to practice independently within their scope of knowledge and experience, collaborate with stakeholders, contribute to quality improvement, and adapt to new responsibilities and competing priorities.

Requirements

Graduate of a two-year advanced practitioner-accredited Respiratory Therapist program; registry eligible.
Current CRT and/or RRT credential.
Valid state license in Respiratory Care if required in the state of work.
Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, other health personnel, and department management during all situations and in line with the organization’s mission and values.
Analytical skills necessary to identify patients’ needs.
Basic computer skills in a Windows environment.

Responsibilities

Float throughout the hospital and/or across multiple hospital locations or regions as needed.
Follow and demonstrate standard elements of professional practice per AARC guidelines.
Act independently and appropriately within the scope of knowledge and experience in the practice area.
Retain accountability for delegation, choices, decisions, and outcomes.
Collaborate with key stakeholders and contribute to quality and improvement practices and outcomes.
Demonstrate agility and willingness to take on new and additional responsibilities.
