About The Position

The Travel Registered Nurse (RN) position is based in Houston, Texas, in a 9-bed unit with a 4:1 patient ratio. The unit’s staffing is listed as one CNC and two RNs for both day and night shifts. The day shift is 11 a.m.–11 p.m.; the night shift is 3 p.m.–3 a.m. The unit uses Meditech Expanse and equipment including Lifepak 15, C1 vent, Lucas, and point-of-care lab equipment.

The nurse performs typical emergency-room procedures, including EKG, PIV placement, ventilator management, BiPAP, and point-of-care labs using Picolo, EPOC, and Triage Meter. The role requires flexibility and adaptability when collaborating with people with varied personalities and other team members. Nurses must work four weekend shifts per four-week period, with every other weekend off. Royal blue scrubs are required.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent experience in a medium- to high-volume emergency room.
• ACLS certification.
• PALS certification.
• CPR certification.
• TNCC certification.
• Flexibility and adaptability when working with varied personalities and team members.

Nice To Haves

• CEN certification.
