About The Position

The Travel Registered Nurse delivers nursing care to patients across their life span. Using the nursing process, the nurse assesses, plans, implements, coordinates, evaluates, and documents the effects of care. The nurse works cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, and other patient-care personnel to maintain standards for professional nursing practice. Travel assignments are 13 weeks. Campus and shift will vary. Travel staff are St. Luke’s employees and are offered medical, vision, dental, and retirement options.

Requirements

Current RN license in Pennsylvania or New Jersey, based on the assigned campus.
At least two years of experience working in an IR or Cardiac Cath Lab setting.
Successful completion of BLS upon hire.

Responsibilities

Perform in-depth, systematic assessments of assigned patients.
Formulate collaborative, individualized plans of care and identify expected patient outcomes using the nursing process.
Implement, evaluate, and document patient care interventions and their effectiveness in accordance with the care plan.
Organize, coordinate, and prioritize patient care while consistently using available resources.
Maintain awareness of the unit budget.
Serve as a professional role model and resource person, providing guidance to co-workers.
Take an active role in unit-based performance improvement.
Maintain responsibility for professional development through participation in in-services and/or continuing education programs.
Follow the established chain of command for work-related problems.
Participate in identifying unit needs and support unit goals and objectives that contribute to the growth of the Patient Services Department.
Maintain departmental records for administrative and regulatory purposes.
Collaborate with other caregivers to assure appropriate staffing levels on all shifts.
