About The Position

FirstChoice is Trinity Health’s mobile staffing solution. FirstChoice registered nurses fill short- and long-term assignments throughout the health system, including local, regional, and nationwide opportunities. This NICU assignment is at Loyola University Medical Center and is scheduled for 13 weeks, with three 12-hour night shifts per week. Nurses may be required to float throughout the hospital, multiple hospital locations, or regions. FirstChoice positions provide opportunities to work in a variety of practice settings and to take on assignments arising from unforeseen staffing needs or extended leaves of absence.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Hold valid RN licensure authorized in the applicable state or states of practice and employment.
Have at least two years of recent clinical experience; the posting specifies this minimum for all specialties, including critical care, surgical services, maternal services, emergency department, and behavioral health.
Obtain and maintain credentials required for the specialty area, such as ACLS, TNCC, or NRP.
Obtain BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

Float throughout the hospital and/or across multiple hospital locations or regions as needed.
Apply the standard elements of professional nursing practice: assess, identify outcomes and solutions, plan, implement, and evaluate.
Practice independently and appropriately within the limits of licensure, knowledge, and experience.
Maintain accountability for delegation, choices, decisions, and outcomes.
Collaborate with key stakeholders and contribute to quality improvement practices and outcomes.
Adapt to new and additional responsibilities, embrace new ideas and cultural differences, and manage competing priorities.
