Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry Med-Surg Unit
About The Position
Sentara Obici Hospital is seeking a Travel Registered Nurse for their Cardiac Med-Tele Unit. This is a temporary, full-time, 14-week assignment on the night shift. The Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit provides care for patients with various cardiac conditions, including heart failure, rhythm disturbances, post-coronary interventions, and myocardial infarctions. The unit also cares for pre/post catheterization, acute stroke, and post-procedural neuro cases. This 25-bed unit has a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio with the assistance of Patient Care Techs and handles patients with higher acuity than a typical medical-surgical unit. The unit is preparing for a transition to a Cardiac PCU step-down. Sentara Obici Hospital is a certified stroke center and holds magnet designation for excellence in patient care, offering a collaborative environment for nurses to develop expertise in cardiac and neuro care. The primary duties of this role include assessing/admitting patients, rounding checks, administering medications, communicating with family members, and managing the overall care of patients. Teamwork is emphasized to ensure optimal patient care.
Requirements
- Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required
- Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- ACLS
- NIH Stroke Scale
- Two or more years of current acute care hospital RN experience
