About The Position

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Travel Registered Nurse for their 10K Stepdown Unit. This is a temporary, full-time, 14-week assignment on the night shift. The unit is a brand new 24-bed Medicine unit equipped with modern technology, including new computers, charting stations, and real-time documentation systems integrated with EPIC. The patient population is diverse, including cardiac, renal failure, vascular, sepsis, pneumonia, sickle cell, OR-prep, and various wound care cases.

Requirements

• Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required
• Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• ACLS
• NIH Stroke Scale
• Two or more years of current acute care hospital RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in a Stepdown Intermediate Care Unit.
• Manage a diverse patient population including cardiac, renal failure, vascular, sepsis, pneumonia, sickle cell, OR-prep, and wound care.
• Utilize new technology and charting systems, including EPIC and real-time documentation.
• Work night shifts on a 14-week temporary assignment.
