About The Position

Legacy Healthcare is hiring Registered Nurses for our internal travel team in West Des Moines, Iowa. This role offers the flexibility of travel nursing without requiring extensive travel away from home. RNs can choose when they work and how far they travel, picking up shifts near home, exploring facilities across Iowa, or a combination of both. The position involves providing direct resident care, serving as the clinical leader for the assigned shift, and administering medications and treatments. It also includes monitoring resident conditions, supervising nursing staff, communicating with physicians and families, supporting admissions and transfers, wound care, emergency response, and ensuring safe care delivery according to resident care plans.

Requirements

• Current, unencumbered Iowa RN license
• Current CPR certification
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to work independently and adapt to different facility environments

Nice To Haves

• Long-term care, skilled nursing, or Charge Nurse experience

Responsibilities

• Administering medications and treatments
• Monitoring and documenting changes in resident condition
• Supervising CNAs, CMAs/QMAs, and other assigned nursing staff
• Communicating with physicians, families, and facility leadership
• Supporting admissions, transfers, wound care, and emergency response
• Ensuring care is delivered safely and according to resident care plans
