About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse specializing in OB/GYN in Hanford, California. The role involves providing direct and supervisory nursing care for obstetric patients, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting a safe, healing environment within a Short Term Acute Care Hospital setting. The assignment is for a 13-week contract with night shifts.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of California required
• BLS required
• ACLS required
• NRP required
• BSN preferred
• At least two years of recent acute care experience
• EPIC electronic medical record experience required
• Ability to work in a Labor and Delivery recovery context and assist with cesarean deliveries

Responsibilities

• Deliver coordinated nursing care for obstetric patients using the nursing process; monitor, document, and respond to changes in patient condition
• Supervise and direct activities of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with physicians, anesthesia, bedside nurses, and ancillary teams
• Collect relevant data, analyze assessment information, and identify care needs and diagnoses
• Develop and implement individualized care plans; provide education to patients and families; participate in discharge planning for continuity of care
• Delegate appropriately and coordinate duties of the health care team; ensure a safe, healing environment
• Participate in labor and delivery recovery coverage and cesarean delivery events as needed; collaborate with the team to manage emergencies and maintain patient safety
