About The Position

Sentara Norfolk General 6K Medicine Unit is hiring for a Registered Nurse for a Temporary Traveler Position! This is a Temporary Full Time 14-week assignment on the Day Shift. The unit is a beautiful, brand new 24 bed Medicine unit with new computers in every room and charting stations in hallways with windows to visualize patients. Blood pressure machines that talk with EPIC as Real Time Documentation. The patient population is cardiac, cardiac prep, renal failure, vascular, sepsis, pneumonia, sickle cell, OR-Prep, and diverse wound care.

Requirements

• Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• NIH Stroke Scale
• 2 or more years of recent acute care hospital RN experience

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to a diverse patient population including cardiac, cardiac prep, renal failure, vascular, sepsis, pneumonia, sickle cell, OR-Prep, and diverse wound care.
• Utilize new computer systems and charting stations for patient documentation.
• Operate blood pressure machines that integrate with EPIC for real-time documentation.
