About The Position

Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, Virginia is hiring an experienced Travel Registered Nurse for the L.D.R.P Unit. This is a temporary, full-time, 14-week assignment for the night shift. The Labor and Delivery and Postpartum Care Unit is an exciting, fast-paced environment with 22 beds (10 L&D/Triage rooms and 12 Post Partum Rooms), plus a 20-room dedicated nursery. The unit provides comprehensive care for laboring patients from admission to discharge, including labor and delivery, recovery, and postpartum care. They also care for OBGYN surgical patients. The department is recognized for its patient experience and has a history of Daisy Award winners. The hospital is Magnet designated and seeking AWHONN designation.

Requirements

Two or more years of current acute care hospital Labor & Delivery and Postpartum RN experience
Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
Basic Life Support (BLS)
NRP

Responsibilities

Care of laboring patients from admission to discharge
Labor and delivery care
Recovery care
Postpartum care
Care for OBGYN surgical patients to include hysterectomies and mastectomies
