Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Inpatient Rehab Unit
About The Position
Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, Virginia is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse for their Inpatient Rehab floor. This is a temporary, full-time, 14-week assignment on the night shift. The Inpatient Rehab (IPR) unit is an 8-bed unit that provides care for patients needing additional rehabilitation for 2-3 weeks before they can go home or to a skilled nursing facility. The team works closely with physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. Nurses on this unit become familiar with patients and their routines, finding reward in witnessing their progress towards returning home. The patient population includes individuals recovering from stroke, spinal cord injury, amputation, or other orthopedic conditions requiring further therapy after medical clearance. The unit is overseen by a physician who personally selects patients and is actively engaged with the nursing team, ensuring accessibility for patient needs and enhancing care. The IPR nurses collaborate closely with each other and the 3 West ortho team.
Requirements
- Two or more years of current acute care hospital RN experience.
- Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field.
- Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale certification.
Responsibilities
- Providing care to patients on the Inpatient Rehab unit.
- Collaborating with physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy teams.
- Monitoring patient progress during their 2-3 week rehabilitation stay.
- Working closely with the unit physician and the 3 West ortho team.
