About The Position

The Inpatient Rehabilitation department at St. Catherine Hospital is a ten-bed, acute inpatient physical rehabilitation unit. We care for post stroke and extremely debilitated patients and rehabilitate them to be able to go home safely. Our mission is to rehabilitate patients to their best quality of life. We are a desirable team that works collaboratively together, somewhat flexible schedule, and have a good education program within rehab. We look for candidates that are willing to work as a team, can communicate well with staff, patients, and families and are supportive of the rehabilitation. As a Nurse you will assume responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient. You will promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act, and demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.

Requirements

  • RN License required; Current KS state nursing licenses or RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
  • Nursing Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing required
  • BLS from the American Heart Association required upon hire or within 8 weeks of hire
  • One RN year experience
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates
  • NIHSS required within 6 months of hire
  • Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing preferred for experienced RN's

Responsibilities
