About The Position

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Travel Registered Nurse for the General Medical ICU. This is a temporary full-time, 14-week assignment for the night shift. The unit is a Beacon Award-winning 16-bed General Intensive Care Unit. Common diagnoses include myocardial infarctions, life-threatening dysrhythmias, cardiac post-procedures, gastrointestinal bleeds, acute respiratory distress, vascular surgeries, and general surgeries with complications. Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is a Level 1 trauma center and a Magnet® hospital for nursing excellence, serving as a primary teaching institution for Eastern Virginia Medical School.

Requirements

Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required
Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
Basic Life Support (BLS)
ACLS
NIH Stroke Scale
Two or more years of current acute care hospital ICU RN experience

Responsibilities

Provide care for patients in the General Intensive Care Unit.
Manage common diagnoses such as myocardial infarctions, life-threatening dysrhythmias, cardiac post-procedures, gastrointestinal bleeds, acute respiratory distress, vascular surgeries and general surgeries with complications.
