Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - General ICU
About The Position
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital located in Norfolk, Virginia is hiring a Travel Registered Nurse for the General Medical ICU. This is a temporary full-time, 14-week assignment for the night shift. The unit is a Beacon Award winning 16-bed General Intensive Care Unit. Common diagnoses include myocardial infarctions, life-threatening dysrhythmias, cardiac post-procedures, gastrointestinal bleeds, acute respiratory distress, vascular surgeries, and general surgeries with complications. Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is a Level 1 trauma center, home to the Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance, the region's first Magnet® hospital, and has a nationally ranked heart program. It is a large 525-bed medical center and the primary teaching institution for Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS), combining the latest innovations in technology, research, and clinical care.
Requirements
- Two or more years of current acute care hospital ICU RN experience.
- Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required.
- Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- ACLS certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale certification.
Responsibilities
- Provide care for patients in a General Intensive Care Unit.
- Manage common diagnoses such as myocardial infarctions, life-threatening dysrhythmias, cardiac post-procedures, gastrointestinal bleeds, acute respiratory distress, vascular surgeries and general surgeries with complications.
