Travel Nursing Instructor- New York Area
About The Position
Kaplan North America, a leader in test preparation, is seeking Master's prepared nurses for its New York travel teaching team. This role involves teaching NCLEX preparation classes at various locations across the New York area, offering a chance to impact future nurses' success on their NCLEX exams. Travel destinations may include Staten Island, Newburgh, Albany, Syracuse, Queens, Rochester, and Manhattan. This PRN position is ideal for those who enjoy travel, exploring new places, and professional development. Teachers receive paid training, use a pre-existing curriculum, and benefit from ongoing development in teaching, presenting, and mentoring skills. Additionally, there's an opportunity to support students virtually as a KLIC Coach, providing individualized guidance via email.
Requirements
- MSN or BSN with Masters required
- Current, unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse
- 5+ years clinical nursing experience required
- Travel required- lead time, locations and dates will be determined based on business needs and availability
Nice To Haves
- Previous teaching/training experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation and leadership skills
Responsibilities
- Teach multiple in-person NCLEX preparation sessions at various locations throughout the year
- Maintain high energy level and ability to engage students to ensure an excellent student experience
- Effectively facilitate learning and learner development
- Ability to learn our methodology and strategies quickly
- Facilitate active and ongoing classroom management
- Attend faculty meetings, professional development workshops and ongoing instructional meetings as required
