About The Position

The Travel MRI Technologist operates MRI and auxiliary equipment, processes images, maintains and cleans equipment, and maintains required documentation. The role prepares patients for examinations, explains procedures in accessible terms, obtains consent when necessary, monitors patient condition, and performs radiologic examinations in accordance with departmental standards and procedures. It also involves processing, labeling, tracking, and archiving images and completing related records.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
New York State and/or Connecticut Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
At least one year of experience performing radiologic exams.

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for examinations and explain procedures in layman’s terms to help relieve pre-testing anxiety.
Obtain consent for procedures when necessary.
Perform radiologic exams according to established standards and departmental procedures.
Position patients and arrange, attach, or adjust immobilization and supportive devices.
Adjust and operate imaging equipment to obtain the correct exposure.
Monitor patients during procedures and promptly report motor abnormalities or reactions to the Radiologist.
Enter patient history and other relevant information from requisitions.
Operate equipment to transfer computed images to film and archive disc memory to tape.
Process and maintain exposed images; label film and ensure images show the correct side, date, and patient identification.
Enter examinations on daily log sheets as needed and complete required tracking steps.
Maintain and clean equipment and complete required documentation.
Perform related duties as required.
