About The Position

The Travel CT Technologist operates CT and auxiliary equipment, processes images, maintains and cleans equipment, and maintains required documentation. The role prepares patients for examinations, explains procedures in lay terms, obtains consent when necessary, and monitors patients’ condition during procedures. The technologist performs radiologic examinations according to established departmental standards, positions patients, adjusts equipment and exposure controls, and ensures patient safety. The role also processes, labels, tracks, and archives images and completes related records. Additional related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
New York State and/or Connecticut Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration.
At least one year of experience performing radiologic examinations.

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for examinations, help ease pre-testing anxiety by explaining procedures in lay terms, and obtain consent when necessary.
Perform radiologic examinations according to established standards and departmental procedures.
Position patients and arrange, attach, or adjust immobilization and supportive devices.
Adjust and operate x-ray equipment controls to obtain the correct exposure.
Monitor patients in accordance with technical and safety standards; recognize and promptly report motor abnormalities, fainting, discoloration, contrast reactions, and other concerns to the Radiologist.
Enter patient history and other pertinent information from requisitions.
Operate equipment to transfer computed images to film and archive disc memory to tape.
Process and maintain exposed images; label film and ensure images are marked with the correct side, date, and patient identification.
Enter examinations on the daily log sheet as needed and complete tracking steps for each examination.
Maintain and clean equipment and maintain required documentation.
Perform related duties as required.
