About The Position

VitalCheck is seeking an experienced Mammography Technologist for a temporary 13-week mobile screening assignment serving a professional workforce in Illinois. The ideal candidate is independent, patient-focused, and experienced in delivering high-quality mammography services in a mobile setting. Candidates must already be fully credentialed and MQSA-qualified before starting this assignment and may not independently perform mammography services until VitalCheck and/or the applicable MQSA-certified facility has verified all required credentials, training, and documentation. All mammography services will be performed only through an MQSA-certified/accredited facility or mobile unit and in accordance with applicable facility protocols.

Requirements

  • Active ARRT RT(R)(M) certification.
  • Active Status Accreditation from IEMA-OHS in Medical Radiation Technology, Medical Radiography category, before performing mammography services in Illinois.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum 3 years of screening mammography experience.
  • Documented 3D/tomosynthesis experience.
  • Ability to work independently in a mobile setting.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to support patient-facing coordination duties as needed.
  • Ability to provide required MQSA documentation before start date and before independently performing mammography services.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of post-offer background screening, drug screening, credential verification, and client/facility compliance requirements, all conducted in accordance with applicable federal, Illinois, and local law.
  • Conviction history will be considered only as permitted by law, including any required job-related, individualized assessment.
  • No employee may independently perform mammography services until VitalCheck and/or the applicable MQSA-certified facility has verified ARRT RT(R)(M), IEMA-OHS Active Status Accreditation in Medical Radiation Technology, Medical Radiography category, BLS, MQSA, modality-training, and continuing-experience documentation.
  • This assignment cannot train, qualify, or document candidates into mammography eligibility. Candidates must be fully qualified before beginning the assignment.
  • Candidates must provide documentation of: At least 200 mammograms performed in the prior 24 months.
  • Candidates must provide documentation of: At least 15 mammography CEUs in the prior 36 months.
  • Candidates must provide documentation of: At least 8 hours of initial Digital Breast Tomosynthesis training before performing DBT mammography.
  • Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must meet all applicable credentialing, accreditation, certification, and compliance requirements before beginning the assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform 3D screening mammograms in accordance with MQSA standards, Illinois requirements, applicable MQSA-certified facility/mobile-unit protocols, and radiation safety standards.
  • Complete daily mammography quality control in accordance with facility protocol.
  • Review images for technical quality and positioning before submission.
  • Transmit studies securely and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant clinical workspace.
  • Provide a professional, patient-centered experience.
  • Support onsite screening workflow, including patient check-in, documentation, schedule flow, and daily operational communication.
  • This role does not include diagnosis, image interpretation, prescribing, determining medical necessity, or directing physician/radiologist clinical judgment.
