About The Position

As an Associate Travel Agent, you will craft unforgettable domestic and international travel experiences, including cruises, land tours, flights, and hotels. You will leverage your personal travel experiences to inspire and guide clients, building long-term relationships and turning first-time clients into loyal travelers. You will utilize AAA’s established travel strategy to maximize success and achieve sales goals. Responsibilities include processing bookings, payments, and travel documentation while ensuring compliance with ARC, DOT, and AAA policies. You will also educate clients on AAA benefits, such as exclusive travel perks and the AAA-branded credit card, and resolve client concerns under management guidance. Continuous learning is encouraged through attending promotional events, training, and familiarization trips to stay ahead in the industry.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Retail experience required.
  • Certified Travel Associate (CTA) designation required within 2 years of job acceptance.
  • Ability to respond to customer inquiries and interact with individuals.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient using the Internet, AAA Intranet, Travel booking sites, and other applicable legacy and web-based PC applications used to process work and service client requests.
  • Ability to complete all AAA Travel Agent training via AAA-University and class attendance is required.
  • Working knowledge of geography and the ability to use manual (paper) or PC based maps.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or graduate of an accredited travel school is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a retail/leisure travel agent (or other comparable travel experience) preferred.
  • Existing book of business strongly preferred.
