About The Position
Under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN) and ED Attending (MD), the Trauma Technician assists nursing staff with direct, indirect, and environmental tasks for patients accessing emergency services.
Requirements
- EMT license or certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) / Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
Responsibilities
- Accept and carry out assignments from the Patient Care Coordinator or RN, considering unit needs and clinical experience.
- Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, including helping patients into and out of appropriate clothing.
- Monitor and record temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, weight, and blood glucose in accordance with policy and procedure; accurately document patient status.
- Perform 12-lead EKGs as directed and enter patient information correctly into the EKG system.
- Perform venipuncture to draw blood samples.
