BayCare Medical Group (BMG) is seeking an experienced Trauma Surgeon to serve as the Trauma Medical Director at St. Joseph’s Hospital – Main. This is a high-volume, academically engaged Level II Trauma Center. The role combines 0.2 FTE protected administrative time for leadership responsibilities with 0.8 FTE for clinical trauma and acute care surgery duties. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated leadership abilities, a passion for program development, and a commitment to clinical excellence and academic engagement. The position involves leading multidisciplinary trauma committees, serving as the primary physician leader for trauma accreditation, and contributing to continuous program improvement. Clinically, the role is within a busy Emergency and Trauma Department, offering exposure to complex cases. The hospital is a 615-bed tertiary referral center with significant ER visits annually. Responsibilities extend to the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), with opportunities to influence critical care management and quality initiatives. Academic involvement includes serving as core faculty for a surgical residency program, with active participation in resident education, teaching, and mentoring.
