About The Position

Skilled Wound Care is hiring Trauma Surgeons in Cleveland, Ohio to work as wound care physicians and lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities and other post-acute settings. The role offers full-time or part-time work, with predictable Monday–Friday schedules and no nights, weekends, 24-hour shifts, in-house call, or pagers. Physicians evaluate and treat chronic, non-healing, and complex wounds, perform surgical and sharp debridement and bedside procedures, and use advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols. They collaborate with facility care teams and follow patients through healing. Comprehensive wound care training is provided; previous wound care experience is not required. Compensation is based on patients and procedures, with quarterly bonus programs. Full-time average annual earnings are stated as $250,000–$500,000, with no earning cap for independent contractors; top performers may earn over $500,000 through performance bonuses.

Requirements

• MD or DO from an accredited institution.
• Unrestricted/clear medical license in the state of practice, or eligibility to obtain one.
• DEA license, or eligibility to obtain one.
• Candidates may be Trauma or Acute Care Surgeons, surgeons of other backgrounds, Family Medicine physicians, or Internal Medicine physicians.
• Candidates must complete pre-employment confidential DiSC testing and relevant skills testing.

Nice To Haves

• Previous wound care experience is not required; comprehensive wound care training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform surgical and sharp debridement and other bedside procedures.
• Evaluate and treat chronic, non-healing, and complex wounds, including pressure injuries and post-surgical wounds.
• Use advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols.
• Collaborate in skilled nursing facilities and post-acute settings, following patients through healing.
• Lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities across the area.
