Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in a health-related field Required
  • With Associate Degree - Entry level – no experience required.
  • In-lieu of degree will accept 4 years’ clinical healthcare experience or 4 years data abstraction or coding experience with High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year experience in medical coding in a hospital setting Preferred
  • 2 years Work experience with strong emphasis on data integrity and analysis Preferred
  • RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Preferred
  • CSTR - Certified Specialist Trauma Registry Preferred
  • ICD-10 certification Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs all functions of case finding, abstraction, database maintenance, report production, and patient follow-up for the trauma registry.
