About The Position

This position involves moving patients and hospital equipment, including but not limited to oxygen tanks, specimens, and hospital beds, throughout Froedtert Hospital. The Transporter is responsible for maintaining obstruction-free corridors and disinfecting hospital equipment per regulations. The role may also require monitoring designated entrances, providing directions to patients and family members, accessing hospital systems, and answering telephones to provide general information to staff and patients. This is an on-site, full-time position (40 hours per week) with a shift from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM, Monday through Friday, including every other weekend and some holidays.

Requirements

  • Ability to receive and convey non-medical information.
  • Must possess good public relations and communication skills.
  • Must be able to interact well with the general public and be able to make sound judgments in a variety of situations.
  • Must possess basic telephone and computer skills.
  • Ability to use hospital software to obtain information is required for staff monitoring entrances.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 6 months of customer service experience is preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
