About The Position

Duties: DEMONSTRATES COMPETENCY TO PREFORM TRANSPORTATION DUTIES REQUIRED BY THE HOSPITAL WHICH INCLUDE:     Ensures the comfort of the patient while transporting     Transports using wheelchairs and stretchers     Checks two forms of patient identification prior to transporting     Completes an In-Patient transport within 20 minutes - Leave to Return TAT     Communicates any delays back to department     When delay is encountered, calls dept. for new assignment     Transports any other required items; documents, equipment, etc.     In times of high activity, helps out in any other area as needed     Assists nursing staff removing patient from bed when necessary     Maintains patient privacy when transporting     Engages patient in conversation during the transport     Makes equipment rounds and transports equipment back to central supply, PACU or any other area of the hospital as directed.     Picks up medication s from pharmacy as directed and brings to appropriate floor EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or equivalency 6 months to 1 year experience in a healthcare setting. CREDENTIALS + QUALIFICATIONS: BLS - AHA approved Varied Schedule 48 hours per pay period 8 shifts

Requirements

  • 6 months to 1 year experience in a healthcare setting.
  • BLS - AHA approved
