About The Position

St. Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid Atlantic, is seeking a (Pool/per diem) Transporter to join our Team. The purpose of this role is to transport patients and equipment safely throughout the St. Francis Medical Center campus. The hospital has served the Wilmington community and Northern New Castle County for over 90 years, founded by the Sisters of Saint Francis of Philadelphia in 1924, with a mission to serve all who require expert medical care regardless of religion, race, color, creed or economic status. Requirements

HS diploma or equivalency (required)
CPR Certification- issue by AHA
Fingerprint & Child Abuse History Clearance (completed during onboarding once hired)

Responsibilities

Observe for and report safety hazards and broken vehicles to the Lead Transporter for immediate repair.
Transport patients on stretchers, beds, and wheelchairs from one area of the hospital to designated area within the hospital campus, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for the patient being transported.
Promptly report any concerns of patients and/or happenings during transport to appropriate personnel.
Cooperatively assist in lifting patients in and out of beds as requested, exercising proper lifting techniques.
Clean wheelchairs and ensures that each area has an adequate number.
Keep incident log of transports.
