About The Position

The Transporter role is a part-time position within the Transportation Department, offering a fast track to an interview and a recruiter phone call within 24-48 hours. This role is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a hospital setting. The primary responsibility is to safely transport patients to and from the Radiology Department for imaging procedures. Additionally, the transporter will assist with patient preparation, stocking supplies, maintaining organized work areas, providing front desk and clerical support, preparing and managing outpatient requisitions and patient reports, utilizing PACS and computer systems, delivering excellent customer service, assisting with department errands, and maintaining knowledge of Radiology terminology and procedures. The role also emphasizes promoting a welcoming, patient-focused environment.

Requirements

• Must have BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current throughout employment
• Starting April 2014, all new hires will require a High School diploma or Equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients to and from the Radiology Department for imaging procedures.
• Assist with patient preparation, including dressing patients for exams.
• Support daily department operations through stocking supplies and maintaining organized work areas.
• Provide front desk and clerical support, including answering phones and greeting patients professionally.
• Prepare and manage outpatient requisitions, patient reports, and medical records.
• Utilize PACS, computer systems, and office equipment to support efficient workflow.
• Deliver excellent customer service while communicating with patients, physicians, and staff.
• Assist with department errands and additional support duties throughout the facility.
• Maintain strong knowledge of common Radiology terminology and procedures.
• Promote a welcoming, patient-focused environment through friendly and professional interactions.
