TRANSPORTER
About The Position
The Transporter/Driver provides safe transportation of patients to and from the facility providing continuous observation, interaction, and role modeling to the patients while maintaining safety at all times. The Transporter may also provide direct care to adult patients with psychiatric disorders, as well as substance abuse, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the patients. The Transporter will have the responsibility of ensuring the patient’s safety to or from the facility or various offsite locations such as physician offices, diagnostic centers, ERs, Military bases, discharge placements, etc.
Requirements
- Completion of a High School Diploma or its equivalent.
- A minimum of two (2) years experience in mental health care, preferably in a healthcare facility.
Responsibilities
- Provides safe transportation of patients to and from the facility.
- Provides continuous observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients.
- Maintains patient safety at all times.
- May provide direct care to adult patients with psychiatric disorders and substance abuse issues.
- Ensures the safety and wellbeing of patients.
- Ensures patient safety to or from the facility or various offsite locations (physician offices, diagnostic centers, ERs, Military bases, discharge placements, etc.).
