About The Position

Under general supervision, and according to established policies and procedures, the Transporter performs duties which may include, but are not limited to escorting and/or transporting patients within the hospital. This involves escorting patients by stretcher, wheelchair or bed for treatment, testing, admitting, discharge and intra-hospital transfers. The role also includes delivering on request specimens, patient charts and various other patient related materials to specified department or other hospital area. The Detroit Medical Center retains the right to create and revise all job descriptions, at its sole discretion.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write follow written and oral instructions and perform general clerical functions related to the job
• No previous related experience required; one to four weeks on-the-job training
