Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
  • Ability to lift and move at least 50 pounds and operate/move equipment and supplies safely.
  • Corrected vision and hearing within normal range; ability to reach overhead, sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clinical and support staff.
  • Ability to remain calm, prioritize tasks, and perform effectively in fast-paced or stressful perioperative environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous CNA experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently transport patients to and from the Operating Room (OR), Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Outpatient Services, and other designated areas throughout the facility.
  • Transport patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed, including those requiring oxygen, IV pumps, monitors, and other specialized equipment.
  • Assist in operating room turnover by cleaning between cases, moving equipment, and restocking supplies.
  • Communicate effectively with surgical, anesthesia, nursing, and support staff to coordinate patient movement and room readiness.
  • Follow strict infection control, safety, patient privacy, and hospital protocols during all transport and room turnover activities.
  • Deliver specimens, equipment, and supplies to appropriate departments in a timely manner.
  • Observe and report patient concerns, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards to appropriate personnel.
