The transporter will utilize wheelchairs and stretchers, adhering to strict identification protocols before any transport. A key performance indicator is completing in-patient transports within 20 minutes, with clear communication regarding any delays. Beyond patient transport, the role involves moving necessary items such as documents and equipment between departments, stocking linen and fluids in warming cabinets, and assisting radiology staff. Additionally, the transporter will play a role in informing patient families and friends about the patient's disposition.
