About The Position

The Transporter works in the Medical Transport department at Resurrection Medical Center. The role transports patients to and from the department and also performs department support duties, including darkroom work, ordering and stocking supplies, dressing patients, and front-office tasks. The position provides clerical support such as answering telephones, greeting patients, preparing outpatient requisitions, filing patient reports, and retrieving patient records for physicians or Medical Records. The Transporter should understand common terminology for tests ordered in the department and communicate politely and professionally with patients and visitors. Clerical support involves using telephones, computers, office equipment, and PACS (Picture Archive and Communication System), as well as running errands throughout the facility.

Requirements

Must have BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current certification throughout employment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrate adequate knowledge of usual terminology for tests ordered in the department.
Demonstrate good telephone etiquette and greet patients and visitors in a polite and friendly manner.
