About The Position

Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, a national law firm with offices in all 50 states, has immediate openings for Transportation/Trucking Litigation Attorneys in its St. Louis office. Ideal candidates will have at least 4 - 6 years of experience, with a particular emphasis on defending commercial motor vehicles, trucking, transportation, and motor vehicle accident claims. The firm offers flexible options for successful candidates, including hybrid opportunities. GRSM attorneys represent leading transportation and logistics companies in high-stakes injury, property damage, and casualty matters across land, sea, and air. We provide immediate guidance during accidents and investigations and have successfully advocated for clients up to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Requirements

  • At least 4 - 6 years of experience, with a particular emphasis on defending commercial motor vehicles, trucking, transportation, and motor vehicle accident claims.
  • Excellent litigation, writing, and persuasive speaking skills.
  • Strong academic backgrounds.
  • Proven skills in research.
  • Self-starters who are able to handle assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Licensed to practice in Missouri.
  • Illinois licensure preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Trial experience is preferred but not required.
  • Illinois licensure

Responsibilities

  • Investigating serious and catastrophic accidents.
  • Evaluating liability, causation, damages, and exposure.
  • Developing litigation strategy with clients, insurers, and experienced trial counsel.
  • Managing cases through all phases of litigation.
  • Drafting pleadings, dispositive motions, discovery, and substantive correspondence.
  • Taking and defending depositions of parties, witnesses, corporate representatives, treating physicians, and experts.
  • Working with accident-reconstruction, trucking, medical, and other experts.
  • Preparing cases for mediation and settlement.
  • Participating in hearings and court proceedings.
  • Preparing cases for trial and, depending on experience, participating as first or second chair.
  • Communicating directly with clients, claims professionals, witnesses, and opposing counsel.
  • Working collaboratively with partners, associates, paralegals, and litigation support staff.
