Requirements

• One year of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work
• One year of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or schematics
• An equivalent combination of experience and training
• Possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
• Must meet the PA residency requirement
• Must be able to perform essential job functions

Responsibilities

• Inspect roadway and structure construction phases to verify conformance with codes and specifications
• Check placement and quality of concrete, bituminous materials, drainage items, and other construction components
• Perform visual compaction checks of soils, aggregates, and subsurface layers
• Record diary entries, calculations, sketches, and quantity estimates manually or electronically
• Produce reports, track material quantities, and monitor project schedules throughout construction
• Communicate with staff, agencies, and contractors while assisting in resolving field issues
