DESCRIPTION OF WORK This role supports construction inspection activities that help ensure highway projects meet required standards. You will assist with documentation, field checks, and technical tasks across various phases of construction. As a Transportation Technician, you will perform the following duties: Inspection Services: Provide inspection support to ensure that construction work meets contract requirements and quality standards Documentation Review: Check project records, material information, and reports to confirm accuracy and policy compliance Construction Support: Assist with field inspections involving grades, elevations, and roadway or structure stakeouts Traffic Control Checks: Review work zone signs and devices to ensure proper placement and maintenance according to approved guidelines Technical Calculations: Perform calculations, create sketches, and track plan changes while maintaining inspection and quality control records Material Oversight: Observe construction operations and material testing to ensure contract requirements are followed

Requirements

• One year of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work
• One year of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or schematics
• An equivalent combination of experience and training
• Possession of a valid PA Class C driver's license
• Meet the PA residency requirement
• Able to perform essential job functions
