Requirements

  • One year of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work; or One year of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or schematics; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Observe construction activities, check measurements, and review materials for compliance with contract requirements
  • Record work completed, track materials, and maintain accurate project documentation
  • Inspect work zone signs and devices to verify proper placement and maintenance
  • Perform routine math calculations, draw sketches, and note field changes during construction activities
  • Read and research project plans, drawings, and manuals needed for inspection tasks
  • Assist with testing materials and interpreting specifications for sampling and inspection
