About The Position

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT), a 100% employee-owned consulting firm, is seeking a Transportation Technician IV for its Construction Management Team. The role serves as a lead inspector responsible for supervising transportation construction projects in North Carolina. Statewide opportunities are available, with multiple North Carolina locations that can be discussed with the hiring manager during an interview. The position does not offer immigration sponsorship or support, including H-1B or F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT, except for qualified candidates eligible for TN visa classification.

Requirements

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must successfully complete and pass JMT’s Motor Vehicle screening.

Responsibilities

• Inspect contractor operations on roadway, bridge, and other transportation construction projects to verify conformance with plans and specifications.
• Supervise and maintain subordinate inspection staff throughout project construction.
• Measure and track quantities of pay items.
• Gather and maintain record documents, including material certifications, testing reports, and inspectors’ daily diaries.
• Interact with the public, government agencies, contractors, subcontractors, and internal and external parties to respond to inquiries and resolve field issues.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
