Our Construction Management Team is seeking a Transportation Technician II to join us in the Hendersonville, North Carolina area. This role involves applying standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction, ensuring quality, safety, and conformance to project plans and specifications. Statewide opportunities are available. Please note that immigration sponsorship is not available for this position, with the exception of qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification. This position is open in multiple North Carolina locations and can be discussed further with the hiring manager.

Requirements

  • Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
  • Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or a related curriculum from an appropriately accredited institution and two (2) years of progressive technician level experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Active driver’s license
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting highway construction plans

Nice To Haves

  • NCDOT certifications including Concrete Field Technician, QMS Roadway Technician, and Conventional Density Testing preferred
  • 4+ years of construction inspection experience on transportation projects preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection of contractor’s operations on a variety of transportation projects including roadway and bridge construction to verify conformance to plans and specifications
  • Perform routine material testing
  • Measure and track quantities of pay items
  • Gather and maintain record documents including material certifications, testing reports, and inspector’s daily diaries
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
