About The Position

JMT's Construction Management Team is looking for a Transportation Technician I to perform inspections on transportation projects in North Carolina. This role will ensure quality, safety, and conformance to plans and specifications during and after construction. Statewide opportunities are available. Please note that immigration sponsorship is not available for this position, except for TN visa candidates.

Requirements

• Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening.
• Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or a related curriculum from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Active driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

• NCDOT certifications including Concrete Field Technician, QMS Roadway Technician, and Conventional Density Testing.
• Construction inspection experience on NCDOT projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection of contractor’s operations on a variety of transportation projects including roadway and bridge construction to verify conformance to plans and specifications.
• Performs routine material testing.
• Measure and track quantities of pay items.
• Gathers and maintains record documents including material certifications, testing reports, and inspector’s daily diaries.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
