About The Position

The City of Peoria’s Streets Division is looking for hard-working individuals to fill the Transportation Technician I position in the Signs and Striping Unit. The successful candidate will join a team that places over 800 miles of long-line striping a year, and maintains over 24,000 traffic signs. This labor-intensive position will need someone who enjoys working outdoors, and can meet the physical demands listed in our job description. Requirements

High school graduation or equivalency.
1 year experience.
Moderate previous experience required in the same or similar previous positions.
Work requires heavy physical exertion and effort.
Valid driver’s license at hire.
A valid Arizona Class “A” or “B” Commercial Driver’s License with Tanker or other endorsement within 6 months of hire.
Working knowledge of basic and advanced construction practices.
Great attitude and the ability to work within a team structure, and perform solo tasks as required.
Valid Arizona Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Tanker endorsement

Nice To Haves

Technical or advanced courses.
Experience with traffic maintenance to include striping, traffic sign fabrication, or sign installation is a plus.
