About The Position

The Office of Materials Management is seeking a Transportation Technical Specialist. This role involves testing structural materials in a laboratory setting, reviewing quality control plans, shop drawings, and material certification documents, and providing test results to suppliers. The specialist will also assist with various projects and visit material suppliers.

Requirements

  • 4 yrs. trg. or 4 yrs. exp. in engineering related technical experience in construction/rehabilitation/maintenance projects or planning & design of civil engineering projects or materials testing, with experience to be commensurate with position to be filled.
  • Completion of associate degree program in engineering technology; 2 yrs. engineering related technical experience in construction/rehabilitation/maintenance or planning & design of civil engineering projects or materials testing, with experience commensurate with position to be filled.
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
  • Experience with structural materials
  • Able to travel at times and operate a state vehicle.
