This position provides supervision to the transportation staff by radio dispatch and other forms of communication. May have to occasionally operate motor vehicles for Whitten Center. This position is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Transportation Department. Works closely with the Direct Support Managers and nursing and exercises a high degree of discretion and sound judgment. This position will require the ability to work independently with limited supervision. Providing daily supervision of the staff who work within the Transportation Department. While also driving, when needed. Ensures that schedules for consumer transportation on and off of Whitten Center's campus are followed. Coordinates the vehicle assignments for trips on and off campus. Coordinates with SC Fleet Management to properly organize vehicle service issues and gets vehicles to and from service when needed. Other related duties: such as cleaning vehicles and assisting in other departments. The position for this posting is located at Whitten Regional Center, an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) of BHDD-OIDD located in Clinton, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
