About The Position

OIDD-Whitten is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor who is motivated to help individuals and families navigate life's challenges and achieve long-term wellness. This position provides leadership, training, and daily instruction to Whitten Center Housekeeping Department employees. The position is located at Whitten Regional Center, an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) of BHDD-OIDD located in Clinton, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Requirements

  • High School graduate
  • 3 years experience in supervision of custodial maintenance of buildings.

  • A thorough knowledge gained through work experience of custodial procedures, equipment, techniques required to maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
  • An understanding of safety procedures required in the use of cleaning compounds and mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership, training, and daily instruction to Whitten Center Housekeeping Department employees.
  • Follows pertinent ICF regulations, departmental directives, and Whitten Internal Procedures.
  • Provides oversight and direction to daily custodial activities.
  • Ensures adequate custodial coverage of all buildings, following ICF regulations departmental directives and Whitten Center Internal Procedures.
  • Performs regularly scheduled housekeeping/sanitation inspections to ensure that high standards of cleanliness are maintained.
  • Reports inspection findings to immediate supervisor and, if needed, plans for improvements of corrections.
  • Develops staff potential through effective training in efficient custodial techniques and the safe and effective use of cleaning compounds and equipment.
  • Builds team spirit through strong leadership skills and effective use of staff meetings.
  • Maintains accountability of supplies and equipment.
  • Ensures adequate and appropriate materials are on-hand to perform necessary custodial activities.
  • Ensures that mechanical equipment is properly serviced and maintained as required.
  • Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by not exceeding designated budget for supplies, equipment, and overtime.
  • Performs inspections on Eye Wash Stations and ice machines located throughout campus.
  • Maintains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) program for Whitten Center.
  • Performs and/or participates in Quality Improvement activities as assigned by supervisor or Whitten Center Administrator.
  • Assists with other job duties as needed.
